GAME RECAP
After falling to Hersey Thursday night, our boys traveled to Peoria to take on the O’Fallon Panthers with hopes of starting another unbeaten streak. With O’Fallon being one of the better teams in Southern Illinois, entering the game with a 7-1-2 mark, our boys knew it would be a challenge. The game started much better than either of our previous matches, as Junior Hernandez (who was getting his first nod as a starter this season) took it upon himself when he unleashed a terrific shot into the far post, beating the Panther goalkeeper. Eight minutes into the second half, it was Hector Rodriguez doubling our lead, with his first career goal as a member of the varsity team. Rodriguez was able get on the end of a terrific Henry Wachsman delivery to the back post, taking it out of the air and volleying it into the net. Earning praise from Coach Steib were Brendan Lodl, who was extremely steady once again in midfield for our Broncos; Jo Cidulka and Daniel Hesselbein were each key contributors in helping the team earn our 7th shutout of the season.
