GAME SUMMARY

The second contest of the 2017 season took place as part of the “MSL Showcase” as our Broncos matched up against the Elk Grove Grenadiers at Celtic Park in Palatine.  After a bit of a sluggish start, with too many errant passes and poor first touches, our game was sparked to life in the 29th minute when Enrico Ruffolo danced past a pair of Elk Grove defenders and slipped a ball across the six yard box to an eager Klaus Pallan, who easily tapped the ball into the net.   Pallan added a second goal thirteen minutes later, making the score 2-0 going into the halftime break.

The second half saw our Broncos come out much more active and accurate.  The increase in quality lead to several chances, including an excellent goal from Omkar Prabavalkar and a third from Klaus Pallan.  Our boys cruised to a comfortable, 4-0 win to start the 2017 MSL campaign.

Goalkeeper Brett Sprengel made 5 saves on the day, including a fingertip save on a very high quality drive which almost slipped inside the near post in the middle stages of the first half (while the score was still 0-0.).  Well done Brett!
